Hi, I don't have AML leukemia but I have ALL Leukemia which is the better of the two. I though relapsed meaning it came back so I was almost in the same boat as you. My road map is very similar to AML treatment protocol. I got many of the same chemo's as you. I have just finished intensive treatment and I'm now into maintenance. Still relapsed ALL is a little easier to beat then AML even though my treatment took 15 months to complete.

What is it you'd like to talk about. All I know is that AML is a real pain to beat and you need to be prepared. If you are an adult that will be even harder. I went through my treatments as a childhood cancer which usually sees better results in getting cured and less casualties. The older you are usually the harder.

The biggest pain for me were the in patient stays. You will have to stay in the hospital for 2-3 weeks at a time for MANY times. There different levels of cancer difficulty. Some are much easier then others. AML is not one of those easier ones. Even though I suffered a lot, I don't how AML patients can deal with what they are thrown and I've been through a **** lot.

All I can say is get someone to stay with you at those in patient stays. My Mom took care of me and made the time and pain go through faster. Doing those stays alone really sucks.

There is a chance you might get a bone marrow transplant, I've never done one but they are really intense but it could actually cut your treatment length in half.

How old are you? Age plays a huge factor in cancer treatments.
