O.K. everyone....here I go...today is the big day and I am looking forward to it!
My chemo of taxotere and Cytoxan starts.
My body and mind are prepared and ready with positive thoughts to send me on this journey.
My family and friends are my support group....and they are ready too.
I had a lumpectomy in Jan. stage 2 with 3 lymph nodes with cancer
If anyone out there wants to jump on the wagon and are also starting this type of chemo....come along and we can support each other.
The sooner it starts....the sooner it is over!
Let's rock!

I would gladly jump on the wagon, but my chemo ended two weeks ago. How about if I stay in the back and gently remind you that you can do this! I have had the same chemo as you and I survived!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

    Be Well,

I am on the ride with you
I go back to see the surgeon in a week. Since I am HER2 postive I know I will be heading into chemo for Herceptin. I have not seen the onocologist yet but I doubt that I will only get Herceptin. I have already acuired some of my head scarves for this journey. I also decided to get a mowhawk right before I start chemo since my hair will fall out in 2 or 3 weeks. I always wanted a mowhawk so not I have the perfect excuse to give it a short try. It will really make the grandkids flip out. I am determined to have as much fun on this journey as I can because unlike Germany or El Salvador, I have no intention of returning to Cancerville. So I'd best have a good time the first time around.

    Great Start!
Thank you all for jumping on this band wagon.
I did start Taxotere and Cytoxan yesterday and no bad reactions at all.
Had some great friends there for support and the time went by easy.
    Feel great!
Have been told I should feel fatigue around day 3 and my lowest WBC should be about day 9.
I go in for a Neulasta shot today because prior to starting chemo my WBC was way low 3.9 because of an infection at the site of my lymph node removal..no pain...just red.
I have been told I should feel mucle/bone aches because of this medicine....so we will see.
    The best to you all
    Let's keep on rocking!

Hi Katmy, Would love to keep in touch with you.
    How have you been doing?
Very interested in if you felt anything different after you second treatment.
Did you have to take Neulasta?
    The best to you.
It must be nice to say.....2nd one down. :-)

Congratulations on the end of your chemo journey!
It must have been a great feeling.
I was thrilled yesterday just to say.....1 down...5 to go!
You will give me strength in knowing that you got through it and will be in the background reminding me.
    Rock on!

    I took claritin......
for the neulasta shot pain. I saw it on this board and decided to give it a try and I never had one pain from the neulasta shot. Just take one claritin the day before the shot, day of and for 6 days afterwards. Not claritin D, just plain claritin.

    Love and Light,

    I totally get your excitement
I get it! I was definitely scared to get chemo but I got through it because while doing it I felt at least I was doing something to eradicate the cancer in my body. I think that each step of the way. Every treatment is another step in getting rid of the cancer and getting my body back. Best to you!

    Yep, each step brings you
Yep, each step brings you closer to the goal, so just keep walkin'. I will echo the advice about claritin. I took it with Neupogin (a cousin to Neulasta), and it worked for me. I believe it's recommended by the manufacturer, which your pharmacist can confirm.

    Hugs,

    Linda
