Just happened upon this website while at work(UPMC) and thought it was great. I know for those that have appendiceal cancer it seems as resources of info are limited...there is even a blog to connect with others and for those who might need HIPEC there is a listing of facilities and physicians that provide this treatment. Also information on Signet Ring cell adenocarcinoma and Mucinous Adenocarcinoma. Hope it is helpful to someone !!!

I'm familiar with the blog. I thought I'd mention, as a word of encouragement, that the woman who writes the blog is an 8 year survivor of stage IV signet ring appendiceal carcinoma.

Lots of good info, good links. The author is a 9 3/4 year survivor, nurse, and now very involved with more research. Very reliable info.

Does that women have distant metastis? My husband a young 47 healthy Stage IV with recent HIPEC is having a hard time with the irintcantan (Campistar) any suggested alternatives? Already did Folfox prior to Hipec which was very easy for him (prior to surgery) but not sure as effective for the aggressive signet cell. Any suggestions? Right now in hospital for fluids and controlling diahrrea. Just needs to gain weight and possible go back to Folfox.
Thank you, Erin

If not, he really needs to see on. I love my surgeon at MSK (Dr. Paty)- I was also stage 4, and did IP chemo with FUDR, followed by Folfox plus Avastin.
