It was my daughter, Stephanie's, birthday. It's been almost 4 years since she is gone, but I still miss her.

It's true that she had her troubles. She was emotionally disturbed and mentally retarded. But, she had a heart of gold. On a 'good' day, she would always have a smile, and a hug, for all of us.

Happy Birthday, my sweet angel, I hope things are better for you now and you rest easy....

    Im right there with you Kathi...even though its been 4 years since her passing you just cant stop missing them. Its only been 3 months since i lost my cousin/sister and im still in the greiving stage, but i dont think i will ever stop missing her just like you with your daughter. It kinda makes the holidays a little rough or in your case holidays and her birthday! But they are in a better place now i believe and im happy their suffering is over but missing our angels greatly!

    I remember that last year you went to Disneyland and did your reflecting on her there. It doesn't matter how long the time is, and 4 years is so short, we still miss and grieve for those we have loved and lost. My heart is with you and with all that are missing those they loved. The holidays are always a time when we especially feel that loss. My mom has been gone for 7 years and the 19th of this month was her birthday and I always miss her just a little more during this time. So for all of us who have someone who is no longer with us (and that would be just about everyone) I lite my candle to honor all of them. They are in our hearts today, tomorrow and always.

    Kathi, I will be thinking of you tomorrow and will say a prayer for Stephanie, who surely is among the angels. Of course you still miss your child. A mother's love does not die with her child, nor does the sense of loss disappear with time; I know this from my own mother.     Losing a child is probably one of the hardest losses.
    Just remember that she will always be with you as long as you keep her in your heart.

    Troubles and mental/physical/emotional difficulties have nothing to do with a mothers' love for her child. Peace to you tomorrow...I will light a candle for her in the morning and let it burn for 4 minutes...one for each year. She was important, valued, loved. As are you.

    HUGS!!!
    Many HUGS to you during this difficult time! Your love for her will never be forgotten. I'm also having a hard day as my Dad died in Oct. and we buried his ashes yesterday! So hard to say goodbye for ever! HUGS!!! Cathy
