and I'm so happy to be done. I go for my last Neulasta shot tomorrow afternoon. I meet with radiologist on Friday to see if I need rads (hoping not). I go for blood labs and nurse eval for the next 3 weeks and in January I meet with onc again to discuss which aromatose inhibitor to take and to have my port flushed. He told me I'll have to go to the hospital to have it removed. I'm quite concerned about taking Arimidex. My sister took it 8 years ago with no side effects but I already have osteo arthritis, lumbar spinal stenosis, bad knees, poor balance, and osteopenia in left hip. Oh yeah, hot flashes and mood disturbances. I just stopped taking antidepressants 6 months ago. Can't win. After reading all the possible side effects I have to hear what he has to say. Maybe I'll try it and if things get bad I'll tell him I want off........ For now it's one day at a time.

    Good job, Char
Try not to make negative assumptions about the Arimidex. If your experts recommend it, I would encourage you to try it. I've been on since July 21st and so far, so good. I do not have your arthritis/bone issues, but do remember--everyone is different and you could do as well as your sister did.

Good luck and congratulations on your final chemo. Something to celebrate, indeed!

    Hugs, Renee

Oh Char I'm so happy for you! NO MORE CHEMO!!! Sending you big hugs & hoping you can get lots of rest & recovery. I'm about 6 weeks post chemo now & have noticed a big improvement in how I feel & am getting my strength and energy back. I had my port removed today, in an outpatient surgical procedure. They just numbed the area with a local, so I didn't have to be put under anesthesia, it was really quick & the area is pretty sore now, but they gave me pain meds for that.
Hopefully you'll have minimal side effects with whatever AI they put you on. I'm on Tamoxifen, and I was nervous about starting it but honestly the only side effect I get are hot flashes, and even those have weakened tremendously in the month I've been on it.
    *hugs & hugs*

    Congratulations!!
I'm doing a happy dance with you that you are done with chemo! Try to take things one day at a time. If you have to do rads, they are MUCH easier than chemo (at least they are so far for me). I share your fears of Arimidex, but I guess we will have to both just take a deep breath, say a prayer, and move to the next stage. (I start when my radiation ends in January). Good luck and, again, congratulations!

I know just how you feel Char! All I can say is YAHOO!!
I will see my onc. on thurs. to see what her plans are for me since I finished chemo 3 weeks ago. I hope I don't need rad's. I don't know anything about Arimedex.
Well, good luck and I'm sure we'll both be posting as to what our onc's say.

    Hi Char,
I know you are finally glad to have your chemo DONE! It is a great feeling. Hope your last chemo "recovery" is easy on you. Take it easy, if possible this time of year. Hope that you won't have to do rads. I didn't have to, but have to have Herception treatments until June, so my port will stay. Sending a big hug, Jean

    Way to go, Char!!!
Congrats on your graduation from chemo. Another milestone reached!! I am hoping that you do not need rads but if you do, in my opinion, they are easier than chemo. After your last Nuelasta shot today, make sure to take time and celebrate, YOU so deserve it.
