Hello ABC, + welcome to this forum. It is a fantastic place to come for advice, comfort, humour, etc. My advice is to take one day at a time as much as you can. It is how I am getting through this. What chemo will you be on? Good luck!

    Welcome
Welcome to the board. That is a pretty brief description, but sorry that you had to join the group. Good news is that we are here anytime you need support, experience, or just want to vent. What does your oncologist suggest for treatment? Have you done radiation or chemo before surgery? Please post any comments on any topic. Remember we are colorectal so we have been through the most modest of discussions. Hope that you have a treatment plan. Keep us informed. You have joined and now belong to a great family. Welcome.

Welcome to the group. Sorry you have to be here but since you are now one of us, we will help in anyway we can. This is a great group of supportive, knowledgable and caring people.

You said that you are starting FOLFOX? Louswift just started FOLFOX on Oct 11th. He is having his 2nd treatment of on the 25th and I am starting my first one on Oct 25th so you are not alone. You might want to check out his posts about how it is going for him. I am following along so I know what to expect too.

Here are 2 links to his posts:

He did a great job with explaining what was going on and those who responded had some great input also. Hope it helps give you a little info and takes away some of the fear of the unknown you might have. Just want to say thank you to Lou again because he really helped me with his posts.

    Lungs
Sorry to hear of your DX.
If you have small spots on your lungs, how are they thinking of dealing with those? I have had small spots removed a few time by RFA (radio frequency ablation) where they insert a needle into the tumor during a CT scan and it dissolves the tumor. It's been very effective for me. 2 our of the 3 times I've had that done of the years I did not have to even spend a night in the hospital, the other time I spent 1 night. I also had 3 lung surgeries that were a bit more complicated than having 1 or 2 little spots removed. They were successful but not a lot of fun and required a much longer stay.

I would look into the RFA and see if that's an option for you. If not, try to find out why it isn't. Not all hospitals do those. Maybe look elsewhere for treatment?

    Welcome home
    Abc1234,

Welcome to the club nobody wants to be in. This is a place where you can ask anything and get an honest answer. Don't feel bad about not knowing all this stuff about Chemo. Trust me we were all in your shoes, and we all support and help each other. I learned so many things about my cancer and treatment from all the caring folks here and you will too. This will be a safe harbor for you when you are feeling low. And also place where you can vent about this beast we call cancer.
