Been doing this for a week now..Wanted to share my story with someone who will not think I am crazy or just being "paranoid"....I accidently found a new lump in my "good breast"...Was lounging around typing on CSN and got a pain so when I went to rub the spot I said oh what is this? Will see the doc. on Tuesday....My question for you all What doctor would you see first? Primary care, oncologist, breast surgeon?? I decided on the oncologist because she is closer and I am not sure if I trust my primary care doc. for this....But if the onco doc. recommends any testing I will head straight to surgeon because they do the testing right on site..
Sorry this is long and Thanks I know you all feel my pain....
Blessings...

    Bless your heart! So sorry
Bless your heart! So sorry you now have something new to deal with. I wish I could offer good advice about which Dr. to see, but like you, I have some issues with some of my docs which would narrow my choices. I like my primary Dr. just fine as a person, but am not so sure about his medical expertise. I just don't want to try hunting for a new one while in the middle of bc treatment. My oc is okay, & is probably the one I'd go to first, just because I see him & his nurses all the time.

I will certainly keep you in my prayers. I've learned, for me at least, that putting it ALL into God's hands is the only way I can stay sane. Otherwise I'd worry myself sick. I'll be thinking of & praying for you on Tuesday especially.

    Blessings,

    Jenn

Thanks for the prayers...That is part of my problem my primary care doc. left her practice 2months after my bc journey started..In her place is this young too many rings wearing non hand washing boyman.... I saw him one time and he gave me pain med for a earache which I did not need....So I need to find a new doc...

My PA is the one that I'd be
My PA is the one that I'd be heading to first. Or at least calling her first as she has to write a referral for me to see anyone other than her (or Urgent Care within the system) at this time as I'm not actively doing chemo or rads. But then I'm not involved with an insurance company - I'm VA.

I don't who would be best for you to see first but definately see someone soon!

I call my onc and he orders
I call my onc and he orders the mammo, ultasound, MRI, whatever test I need, then if necessary I go to the breast surgeon. Or you can go to the breast surgeon and they can order the tests. I try to cut out the middleman, because knowing the routine, I just go to who is going to help me get answers quickest. Try to not be too anxious, it could be a cyst, which many of them are. I have had many benign biopies even in the face of having breast cancer. Hugs!!!

Waffle 8 .. I'm with the gals on this one .. Oncologist first
Praying for you .. hoping it's fat deposit ... Please call Ono office on Monday, and see if they can squeeze you in -- crying may help. !!!! If you get in .. try and get a ultra sonic mammo - results are available within a few hours if not instantly.

Sorry to jump on Meena 1's shirt tails .. after BC, I go my oncologist for everything - including a common cold. No joke - just a fact of life.

    More scary
I am so sorry about your scary discovery. I will hope for the best along with everybody else
on here. Hope that it is only fat. Please try not to loose to much sleep over this, as hard as
that will be. Be gentle to yourself, you have been through enough.

I personally would go to my surgeon and have him take a look at it right away. I am impatient
like that. But that is just me. I would want him to take a look at it right away.

I am sending you lots of good vibes to get you through this scary time.

Prayers that this is a big
Prayers that this is a big nothing. I think that your onc is the best place to start. They can order whatever tests they feel necessary and this is their area of expertise. Again, my best thoughts and prayers are with you. Keep us posted.

    SIMILAR situation
Have a tender and at times, painful area that feels cystic adjacent to the operative scar.Saw my surgeon three weeks ago.She left our hospital Breast center and joined another downtown last week. When I saw her she felt nothing unusual but suggested I have an ultrasound with my scheduled mammo at the end of Sept.
I went for both tests on Thursday. Waiting and praying since the ultrasoundnd tech saw two somethings that caused her to call a doc. The doc was not alarmed and stated she saw not-unusual post surgical changes and a calcification in the breast with the lumpectomy. I wish I could say I am not worried too.

I'm sorry to hear this news. My only experience with my oncologist has been chemo treatment. I think I would have gone to see my surgeon had I found another lump. Whichever dr you see I'm sure will send you for some kind of testing. Wishing you the best. It can be scary just wondering......

    Still waiting and praying
Saw my onco. doctor today...Said diff. is nodule there but she "believes it isn't anything to worry about"...That's easy for her to say...But anyway she wants me to have a mammo done just to be sure.....So I will see my breast surgeon Friday for this....What a wild ride this bc beast is.....Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes....I am constantly awed & amazed & blessed by the wisdom on this site..
