I recently had my second dilation done and a week later I still could not eat. So after going back to the doctor I now have a fungus in my throat that is making it difficult to swallow. has this ever happened to anyone? And if so how long before you could eat? I love losing the weight but I'm dying for some real food. thanks

I am on the chopping block to have this throat dilation done soon, scares the hell out of me as I worry about side affects from it. On the fungus make sure your ENT knows and is giving you something for it. Please keep posting on how you are doing, like I said I am up for it but don’t know if I want to have it done.

All the best to you.

I'm on three different medicines. The first time I had the throat dilation I had no problems and it was amazing how much I could eat. I actually gained 10 pounds but it was fun. I only had a sore throat for a few days afterwards. Good luck with it and let me know how it turns out. Do you know if you are having the balloon or something called the "borgie" (probably spelled it wrong)? Keep in touch best to you too
Also the doctor thinks I may have had the fungus when he was doing the procedure but it was not as evident.
