Greetings! Two months after dx and 5 weeks after my lumpectomy, I start chemo on Monday. I am relieved to finally be starting - after all of the on again, off again, re-tests, etc, but I am scared. My oncotype score is 22, so here we go! Think of me at 8 am on Monday!

    That was my oncotype score
That was my oncotype score also. Good luck and read read read all the chemo posts. You will get a ton of info on how to prepare and what to do after. Everyone's a bit different in what they experienced, but you can be ready for anything. Hydrate hydrate and hydrate starting on Sunday. Good luck & take care. I have one more out of four to go.

    Hi Mama....I finished chemo
Hi Mama....I finished chemo 5 weeks ago and had surgery last week. The best advice I have to offer is to make sure you stay on your anti-nausea medications. My first treatment I didn't take enough and was sick. I learned to take them preventatively. I wish you luck on your chemo journey...it is a road, but not a long one!!! Dawn

Hi. My onco/dx score was also 22. I finished chemo 4 mos. ago and I still remember how terrified I was before the first one. It is not a walk in the park but it is very doable and it will be over before you know it. Just remember this site is so wonderful while you are going through it. I got answers to all my questions no matter how small all you have to do is post and someone can help. Good Luck, thinking of you.

    I wish you
well on Monday. The first one is the scariest because you don't know how you might react. I expected the worst and was pleasantly surprised to have very few minor side effects. I am on Taxotere/Cytoxen 4-6 rounds and one done :-) Hydrate well the day before and every day that follows. You'll be glad you did!

Best of luck mama! I had my 2nd one today. I didn't get much nausea but I do get really tired, and got quite a bit of pain from the Neulasta injection i got to help with my white blood cell count. Get that first one outta the way, you'll do just fine. I've had 2, only 4 more to go. We can do it :) I'll be thinking of you Monday morning.

I will be right beside you on Monday, well in thought and prayer
Drink water think of that chemo going after that beast, rest when tired. My nurse said the more you ca stand to drink it just helps flush the chemo thru you. Hey try flavored water you can get little packets and put a little kick in the tonic!!!

    Hi there Mama
Like everybody has said, chemo isn't a walk in the park. As a matter of fact, it kind of feels like you stand in the park and just lay down and rest for a few days. That being said, I just had my first chemo on 08/18 (TC) it's tough for a few days but then you start to feel better until the next round. Hang in there and know that this phase will be over before you know it. I get round 2 of 6 on 09/15
