Hang in there Cavediver, you are almost done and then we will be dancing with you in celebration. You are right when you say "this too shall pass" indeed it will and life will brighten become enjoyable once again. It is a process, a doable process and you will get there. Please be sure to tell your doctor all the symptoms you have mentioned here, write them down so you do not forget any of them so your onco can tend to you and give you the best care possible. You will feel better once you are hydrated, let us know how you are doing.

It does suck! The whole thing. I am so glad that there are "only" two more chemo sessions for you. You are 75% finished with chemo! Soon you'll be out of the weird and awful country of chemo. Boy do I rmemeber feeling like that! You described it so well. And there is nothing you can do but give in to it and hopefully sleep alot. Thankfully only two more to go! I am sending you good thoughts and some cyber strength to help get you thru this....

home again...update...
just got home....they hydrated me, gave me injection for nausia, and the ever lovely neupogen shot today and for the next couple of days I go back for more! They said this time they could not find 'any' white blood cells! But this time I got something to help with the pain from neupogen shot....last time (2 days) it was rough on me. So, I am feeling a lot better.....also have cypro to take for 7 days.....so the intesinal infection should cease. Geeze, this is so much fun, eh? Glad to be feeling a bit better now.........and I will get through this.......what with all of you encouraging me...I know is it worse for others, and of course it is all different.......but yes, I can see the slightest glow at the end of this chemo tunnel! Thank the Lord for the caring and lovely nurses at the Cancer Center........and thanks to all of you!0 -

I hope you feel better real soon. Kinda hard to hydrate yourself when anything you drink tastes like crap. I noticed you got a neupogen shot. I had those also (not nulasta). Got a lot of back pain from that & darvoset didn't help. Believe it or not, motrin did the trick.

You are definately having a rough time of it. I am happy to read that at least you are feeling a bit better today. Keep reminding yourself that there is an end in sight......just 2 more treatments. You can do it
I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. Just keep coming here to lean on us; we'll hold you up until you can do it yourself again. I was lucky enough not to need neulasta, so I can't imagine that part, but I know you can get through this. Look how far you've come already (and you didn't think you could do that much -- none of us did). If you can't imagine getting thru #7 and #8, just picture yourself getting through #7 and if that's too hard, do a week at a time or a day at a time. We're here for you.

You can do it and you will! I know that feeling, boy do I. Landed in the hospital for 5 days after my very last chemo--no white cells and some type of infection. But, had a chance to rest, felt so much better after the drugs and very quickly bounced back. It's incredible how amazing our bodies are--not to mention our fighting spirit.
Positive, healing energy coming you way. Open your arms, breathe deeply and soak it in.

Be kind to yourself .. and hydrate. The end of our chemo treatments seems to bear the worst of systoms. I'll keep you in good thoughts and prayers.

and hopefully will feel better soon. I'm wishing you the strength to get through your last 2 chemo trts. 8 is a lot. I don't know yet how many I'm having as I start next week. I will be getting the Neulasta shot the day after. What is the difference between that and nuprogen shot???? I'm also surprised that you had such bad side effects after your 6th round. Is this usual or was it because of no white blood cells?? Sending you cyber {{hugs}}!

I was told that the s.e. are cumulative so it can can worst as the cycles continue. I was just not expecting yesterday! The neulasta shots day after I always get, but the last couple of cycles the week following the white blood count was very low, so they gave the other...which is stronger I understand and might cause more joint pain (which is does in my case). This time I will have 3 days of nueprogen...ugh...but dr did give me vicatin which helped so far today. BP is very low 100/53 with 101 pulse, so I am thinking tomorrow they will hydrate me again. And yes, the 'no' white blood cells will just knock you out I understand. But, it will all be doable...and as you have read hear, we all have different reactions...........so what happens to me might not happen to you! I am checking my temp and it is 101....but I don't have to worry unless it gets to 104 they say...... so I am hoping the nueprogen makes those little immature white blood cells burst out!!!!...even if it is painful for me :-)0 -

Hang in there you can do this! Cancer does suck, but you are a strong woman...stronger than the beast! My son gave me a pink bracelet that says "Cancer Sucks". I wear it daily and it helps motivate me to continue the fight for my pink sisters as well as for myself. He found a website called cancer sucks and purchased it there. Stay strong...we're all rooting for you!0 -

I was supposed to take a shot a day for 7 days after chemo. Had to quit after 5th day for severe back pain. Three Darvocet in 1/2 hour didn't do a thing. Onc told me to take motrin & although I was skeptical, (I mean how good can an over the counter pill be for that severe pain), It totally worked. I only took 3 tablets 2 times and within 45 minutes of first does, pain was gone. If I ever had to take the shots again, I would do the motrin after each dose.
By the way, in retrospect, I had a reaction even after my first shot, but I didn't relate it to the neupogen. Was very tired the 2nd day after chemo, but was too "bone achy" to lay down comfortably.
