    Hi Deemarie and Welcome to
Hi Deemarie and Welcome to the site no one wants to even ever have to come to. But, you will find lots of support, information and encouragement.

Going for a 2nd opinion sounds like a good idea to me. So many on here do, as, they want to make sure that they are getting the right diagnosis, treatment and advice.

Several on here have had cancer more than once, RE, Jeanne D, Carkris, Kathi M, Meena, Bjmom1, and, more unfortunately. And, they are living their lives to the fullest as there is always life after cancer!

I understand you are confused and in a daze, I would be too. But, continue to do what you are doing in seeking another opinion and trust in your doctors.

Wishing you good luck with your PET scan on the 30th. Be sure and post to let us know your results.

I will be praying for a clean scan for you!

    Take care,

    Diane

also keeping you in my thoughts & prayers
I am just at the beginning of this journey - and, of course, none of us knows what the future holds - but we do understand the emotions that go along with it. Please know that I will be thinking of you & praying for you . . . that you will be able to eventually put this behind you also. Fighting for & with you . . .

    Welcoming you also Dianne!
Welcoming you also Dianne! Being up and down and filled with emotions seems to go with being diagnosed with bc, and, then if it comes back, I just don't know how you deal with it. It is all of our worst fear. Stay strong!

I want to also wish you the best of luck and keep fighting!

I wanted to add too Dianne
I wanted to add too Dianne that if you need more support than here and with your family and friends, the American Cancer Society does have a 24 hour hotline with other bc survivors to talk to.

    As written above, you can
As written above, you can survive cancer 2,3 and even more times. Never give up hope, never. There are so many new treatments out there and such brilliant oncologist's that I am sure you will get the best possible treatment.

    Good luck to you Dianne.

Yes u can survie cancer 3 times i did!!!!
Let me tell you a story of hope, i was told i had hairy cell luekemia and menegitis back in 1986 raising at that my 12 yr old .You see back then that type of cancer was only prevlent in men. I live in ohio and was taken to osu hospital and my family was told i would not make it. Well it so happen that the Dr who discovered hairy cell lukemia got my case and to make long story , i was isolation for 3 months and another 3 months on the cancer floor. I went thru hell and back, i had to learn how to pay bills, shop for food, learn to couunt money and just be a normal again. I was one in 4 in the world to have have surived. I went on experimental drugs for yr and half because at that time there was no cure. I remember the one nite when i looked around and seen iv's everywhere and i cried out to god to let me live to raise my son and if he wanted to come home with i would go because of the spinal taps needle sticks etc i had a calm come over me a light embraced me and i knew god was with me, well from that nite on i was a miracle walking. my dr's said someone has given your daughter a miracle because we didn't think we could pull her thru. i told them god gave me my miracle and there wasn't a dry eye in that room. So 20 yrs' i relasped taken to another hospital and the dr i got was the one that my dr trained 20 yr's as intern. i went on drug for 7 days ran 24-7 no side effects and cancer free. Now to 09 breast cancer and i beat that. So you see you have the will you just don't know it yet. sorry for writing so much need to let you all know cancer is BEATABLE!!!! God Bless

    Hi Dianne
I'm so glad you came to this site. We will be here to encourage you and give you hope!

Keep the faith and know, you are being prayed for.

It's ALWAYS good to get a second opinion, especially when you really have doubts. There are many who survive cancer more than once.

    Keep us posted.

Kickie - Thank you for that amazing story of hope! God is good.

    Many hugs and blessings,

I agree that a 2nd opinion is always good, especially if you don't feel quite right about what your first doctor tells you.

Sending you cyber hugs and positive thoughts!

    Where are you?
You must be close to Johns Hopkins. I go to University of Maryland Medical Center. Would you like to meet for a coffee one day?

    Diane welcome
Sorry for your situation. I cannot add anything useful to what Diane already said. One of my internal medicine doctors mentioned once that cancer "is like diabetes" can be controlled and in remission but not cured". "You are giving me very optimistic outlook" I reacted and we both laughed. His mother is a 7-years survivor from Stage IV breast cancer. I think we need to learn to live our lives to the full potential knowing that it can come back and challenge our spirit again.

    Sending you a big hug,
