Celebrated my Rad Grad yesterday

Finished my last Radiation treatment with hugs from my Rads team and a big smile on my face. Hubby and I took off for a day at the shore, Atlantic City. Got home at 1 AM this morning. Had a great time.
Monday it will feel odd not going for radiation treatments before work. I know I will get used to being able to sleep the extra two hours on work days beginning on Monday. I see my Med Onc on Thurs when we will discuss when I start the hormone receptor blockers. Not in too much of a hurry to do this; my rad onc didn't think it would be a problem to wait a few weeks to give me a little treatment break. Of course, I will discuss this with my Medical Onc first.
I don't see the Physical therapist until the second week in July for Lymphedema evaluation. The swelling has been slight and hasn't been bad over the last week; my breast looks more pink and tan than red now with less swelling.
Hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.
Hugs< K

    Woohoo!
Another Rad Grad! That's what I like to see! Big congrats Kay! I am so glad that your hubby and you took a day off to celebrate! You deserve that!

Still keep using your creams for a few weeks, if you can, as you are still "cookin". And, still be very gentle with your skin too.

Enjoy not going for your zapping everyday! You might miss it actually for awhile, the routine and the people, but, it is nice to get one more part of our treatment done and over with!

    You party girl!

    Thanks Sue
Yes, I have gotten all my instructions from the nurses about the creams and "sunning" advice.I have been using the creams regularly and will continue to do so for until after I see my Rad Onc again in July. Looking forward to getting back to a more normal routine although with all the medical follow-up appts, it will be far from my "normal" schedule.
One more step in the journey... have a great weekend.

Thanks for all your good wishes
Interestingly, I didn't struggle with fatigue during my rad tx, but today I felt so tired that I slept almost the entire day. I am wide awake and feeling more like myself. Guess it was just my body telling me it was time to just relax and refuel.
Back to work tomorrow and my regular schedule. Will be starting PT for the Lymphedema in a few weeks, meaning another schedule change since the treatment is not at my hospital but at our affliate, across and downtown.Good to have this part of treatment finished. Did anyone start the Hormone receptor blockers immediately after their radiation? Seems some suffer significant side effects and others mild, unremarkable ones. I meet with my medical oncologist on Thurs.

    I have been taking Femara
I have been taking Femara since March and have had some hot flashes, night sweats and lots of bone/joint pain. Onc recommended Glucosamin for the bone/joint pain. It does seem to help.
