Where in the World Are You ~ Locations of Residence

Just an idea mind you, but perhaps there would be interest in starting this topic of locations. Letting everyone know where you are located. Maybe even getting together for a lunch or even sitting in on a treatment for support if desired....

I know that Hondo and I have met and had dinner as I have with Illoozions whom happens to be in my hometown. Anyways, just a thought, like others on here, I guess having cancer, going through this treatment and recovering has left me with a feeling of enjoyment in sharing my knowledge and experiences. It's a bond similar to being in the Marine Corps or service to me. It's a bond that you can't really experience or appreciate unless you have been there and done that....

Central Florida myself, Lakeland....

Columbia, California, in the Sierra foothills roughly east of Modesto. Somewhere midway on a line drawn between Yosemite and Tahoe. Gorgeous country.

Boston, MA myself which made treatments at Mass General convenient as long as I could work the appointments around the traffic. :)

I believe that is the one. Believe it or not I have only been to the river about 3 times. I used to live in the country and loved it. When I turned 24 I bought my grandparents house and it is almost in the city of Winchester. That has been about 10 years ago and I still miss the country.

Live on the outskirts of Philly in the suburbs. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark and Kim while I was going for a follow up appointment. Mark had already been through his operation and looked pretty darn good for what he had been through.

I hope to catch up with Jim in Delaware some day when I go to visit with relatives down there.

Both my grown children live in the Troy area. Actually one live in ****ord, works in Troy. The other lives in South Lyon, just outside of ****ord. I lived in ****ord, Mich for years. My kids were born there. When I go down to visit the kids I stay at one of the hotels in Troy, as its about the closest place to stay. Nothing much in Novi, at least not anything that I wanted to stay at. When I go down my granddaughter stays with me to go swimming and enjoy the other things the hotels have to offer. So, we are close. Where are you going for treatments?

In an unincorporated area (read, the boonies) to the west of Wyoming, Delaware. That's in the center of the state, west of Dover.

Cincinnati? Have you all heard of/joined the Wellness Community? The Cincinnati chapter has a Head and Neck group that meets. I've never been, but have wondered

I have been to a meeting at the Wellness Community. I am hoping to volunteer there so I can keep my mind busy. Aside from the cancer (clear now) I'm am trying to cope with the death of a newphew who was like my OWN SON and that is harding to me that the diagnosis of cancer. In fact, it is a lot like cancer b/c it feels like I'm dieing. Thus, trying to keep my mind busy so I don't have a chance to face the reality of it.
thanks for the post.
God Bless you friend,
debbie

Very sorry to hear about your nephew. I'm sure it is like cancer, since it eats at you. I hope you are able to fill in some of the empty spaces with helping others.

I'm 40 miles north of San Francisco in Petaluma (Sonoma County), gateway to wine country (Napa is 15 miles east of me). Gorgeous country, mostly agriculture (was once the chicken capital of the USA - http://www.petaluma.com/history.html) but it is the home of Telecom Valley (AFC, Calix, Cisco, etc.). Every April they put on the 'Butter and Egg Days' parade and festivities, which makes the American Heart Association cringe. Home to Wynona Ryder (I know her mom) and Tom Waites (he's up in Occidental and you might see him sipping a cup of coffee if you breakfast at Howard's).

Best,

Mick

Just over the wire from Hong Kong. Bit far to go for lunch but one never knows.

The area is well know for being the fastest growing city on Earth and more recently the sad events at the Foxconn Factories.

Over 12,000,000 people live here give or take a million (or two). When I arrived in 1994 there were less than a million. I live in a quieter peninsular.

I am in leafy Surrey, a suburb of London UK. I used to come on site loads when first dx in Aug 2005, mostly the chat room. These days I rarely get on here as I am so busy living. I am coming up to 5 years clear of nasal septum carcinoma and luving life here in London. We plan to now spend the winters in Andalucia in Spain, from November thru to April, I soooooo hate winter in London, nasty. I once lived in Newport Beach, California and La La Land for a spell, but that was a long time ago, but I really luved living in the USA. I come on here from time to time to just read some of your stories and to witness the strength of human beings when faced with this horrid disease. I wish you all well and life can go on after cancer. I never ever thought I would be the same, I wanted the "old" me back for ages but I now have a "new" me and I have to say I like her very much, and my life has been enriched by my experience. Good luck to you all. Luv Txxx

I live in a small town, Newbury, (I don't think it's even on the map - LOL) in west central New Hampshire. I live at the base of a mountain and am within walking distance of a beautiful lake. Further up the mountain is Lake Solitude which feeds a brook that runs directly in front of my house, it then crosses under a small bridge and has a beautiful waterfall (about a 30 foot drop) The waterfall is about 25 yards from my house and in the warm weather when we leave our windows open you hear the waterfall. The house is small and very, very old but the location was like a slice of heaven which is why my husband and I bought it.

All I have to do is walk out my door to see some of God's greatest work.

Cascade, idaho. A small town of 1000 people in the West Central mountains. Closest big city is Boise, about 2 hours away. Definitely God's country.

Minden Nevada, just east of Lake Tahoe and South of Carson City. A great place to live with the Sierra mountain range as my back yard.
