Second Surgery Scheduled

Good Evening,

After much deliberation and a second opinion, I agreed to have a second surgery to remove more lymph nodes for testing. The 2nd onologist said if these are clear, he would not recommend chemo. During my lumpectomy, 3 nodes were removed. 2 of 3 had microscopic metatsis cells. My surgery is scheduled 1/21. I pray that all goes well. Thank all of you for your support.

    Maize, Sorry you have to go back for more surgery but it sounds like it needs to be done. Hoping that you have clear lymph nodes and no chemo required. Will be thinking of you next week when you have it scheduled. Hang in there and I'll be keeping you in my prayers. Please keep us posted.

    Maize, I'll also be thinking of you and hoping for clear nodes. But, know that if chemo is recommended for your increased survival, it's very do-able. Best of luck!!

    Sounds like you and your docs have a good handle on things....sorry you have to go through more surgery but if it's going to get you closer to the end of this battle then it's a good surgery. Keep us posted as to how you are doing and what they find out...

    Surgery done/GOOD NEWS
    Good news! I had surgery 1/21. Surgeon released me from hospital last night 1/22. He told me none of the nodes showed any signs of cancer. HOORAY!!! He did not know how many nodes he removed. He wants to see me in his office 1/27. I have appointment with Oncologist on that date so may have to make appointment for Monday instead. He left drain in. It hurts to raise my arms unlike when I had first surgery. I am truly thankful to God and to each of you. Your support has been tremendous.
