Surgery is still on for tomorrow (regardless of whether it is considered an out patient or in patient procedure!). I'm looking forward to having this over with. I'll check in when I get back home. Thanks! Jane

Hi All~

Thanks for all of your well wishes!
I had bilateral late Tuesday and came home Thursday AM. Surgery was uneventful- no suprises. I had previous lumpectomy, so we knew what we were dealing with. Of course, the proof will be in the pathology report. I am able to strip and empty the drains.

I have some interesting stories. Below is the first one.

Mail when I got home included one letter from my insurance company that said that the procedure was not covered and was not necessary. Then a second letter from the same health insurance company that said that the procedure was covered and a stay of up to 48 hours was approved. Interesting!

I was just this very minute looking through the postings to see if we'd heard from you yet -- and here you are!

On my way out the door to rads now, but just want to say how glad I am that you're doing well -- it sure sounds like you've got things together better than your insurance company does!

Jane,
I'm glad everything has worked out so far for you with your surgery.
Best advice--rest and let others do things for you.
I am a single mom and at the time of my surgery in Feb. my son was 5 and he helped out quite a bit like taking the clothes out of the washer and dryer for me and helped with shoveling the porches. I had wonderful neighbors that came over and finished the shoveling.

Gentle Hugs,
Margo

So good to hear from you. You sound as if you are recovering well. Happy to know that also. The insurance letters are interesting. Would definitely hang on to them both as they are so contradicatory. I will pray for your continued recovery.

That all went well.

Keep that lovely smile going, and take good care of youself.
As for the insurance company, I can only shake my head. Glad the second letter came along with the first!

Praying for good news with your path report. Let us know when you can. Good to see you posting.

That is weird with the insurance companies two letters.

Bunny Jane, your picture makes me smile. You are so brave and matter of fact about those drains! It was a BIG deal to me, those drains. I focused on that responsibility, as if that and that in itself was going to save me! Oy, yoy, yoy, my skewered perspective. Keep taking those meds and accept help from anyone and everyone.
