Today was my last chemo treatement! I'm so happy and relieved to be finished. I'm proud too! That was hard work and I got through it! I was really scared about this last treatment because I have had adverse reactions to my Taxol treatments and they have been getting worse. I had to take a bunch of premedications that included a lot of steroids which don't agree with me very well. The infusion nurse (they are all fantastic!) was the best and she made sure I got everything I needed and started the infusion very slowly and increased the speed as it went along and I had NO reaction at all. It was such a blessing. Right now I don't even care that I still have the 3-4 days of side effects to get through before I feel better. Then it's on to radiation and I will looking to you all for your great advise as always to get me through. Debbie

PS to Steff5163: Didn't you have your last treatment on Monday? I've been thinking about you and wondered if everything went okay?

    Awesome, Debbie!
Congratulations for completion of chemo - an awesome accomplishment!

Yes, side effects can linger. And your body needs to heal, which can't begin until you're done. So, continue to take really good care of yourself.

    Congratulations,
Congratulations, Debbie.....what a milestone. Hope you will rest when you feel like it, and drink lots of water. I found that these two things really stepped up my recovery from that awful chemo...plenty of hydration and sleep. Also, Stef, I think you are finishing soon. Both of you have plenty to celebrate. Enjoy your weekend. Hugs.

    Hey Debbie
What a relief hey??? Can you believe you did it?? Just goes to show you are stronger than you think and not only have you survived cancer but you survived the treatment as well!!!
I get to do the dance in 2 weeks. I also had a reaction to my taxol and the benadryl as well. It wasnt severe but I started itching all over. I was given dexamethasone 20mg to take 12 hours and 6 hours before chemo and they started the taxol slow as well and I have been good tonight...though a little wired...not sure I will sleep much tonight.

Anyway dance away girl, you deserve it!!

    Hugs

I am so proud of you!! reading your story made me smile because you have finally closed a chapter to that difficult road you have gone through. Now we will be pulling for you to finish the road that lies ahead. As we all had people to encourage us and help us through we too will do the same!!
