I'm not sure what to tell you. I did quick search on google and didn't find anything, not that it is failproof, anyway.
On the business card for my onocologist there is a medical exchange number where a doctor on-call can be reached 24 hours a day. Do you access to such a number? That would be the first thing I'd do.
Is your tamox. 20 mg? Did you take the whole pill or just half?
In the 2010 Mosby's drug reference book, it has suggested doses for an adult to 20-40 mg ... so 40 mg isn't toxic, but at the very least you def. need to call your onocologist in the morning.
Wish I could be more helpful.

Outdoorgirl, yesterday, during my pre-coffee haze, I took my med then forgot I'd taken it. Later on I strted wondering if I had actually....or was it a dream? (dream about taking pills...things are worse than I imagined). I started wondering if it would be better to skip a day or to double-up? Or maybe wait until evening, and sort of "split the difference"? Fortunatley I'm due for a refill, so I knew how many pills would be there if I did or if I didn't, and I was able to dope it out. Next time I get to town I'll get one of those daily pill boxes. Then...I only have to remember what day it is! HUGS to you. Gracie0 -

I was NORORIOUS for not remembering if I took my Arimidex~ until I finally got one of those Mon-Sun pill keepers. Well duh! If it was Monday , all I had to do was look and see if the little box still had Monday's pill in it! It saved me sooo many times. As if it all wasn't stressful enough, right?
Do yourself a favor and call your DR just to put your mind at ease; you know you are not the first one to have made this mistake. You will feel better just hearing your Medical Team tell you so, I'm sure!

I forget all the time even
I forget all the time even when it's antibiotics, so now I make it a point to take all my meds in the morning right before I drink my coffee. I line all of them up and believe me I take many, many pills. But.... yesterday I forgot. I got up super late, didn't have time to even look at the coffee machine and forgot to take my pills. Other times, I can't remember if I took them or not. Now, I bought one of those weekly pill thingys but I take so many that they don't all fit. I'm in deep trouble. Hugs, Lili0 -

I am glad you called the pharmacy~ pharmacists know everything! They are really amazing! Now take that pill minder out of its wrapper and fill it with Meds! Oh yeah, today is THURSDAY...and the hint is, when you take your pill, leave that days door open so you know what day you took ur last one....

Seriously, I had a pt I took care of ( home care) and I hd to set her pills out for her to take in the AM b4 I got there...that's how she remembered~ I left the doors to the already taken ones open so that there was no mistake. Even if she didn't know what day it was ( and often she didn't) she took her AM pill on the right day! One less thing to worry about~ it worked for her and it worked when I got the Arimidex!

I wasn't trying to appease, I really would do something like that!
I just started taking Tamox. on Monday and it's the only pill I take. But if taking pills is gonna take the same road like the rest of my life recently, I'm gonna get a pill box too! Seriously, I forget where I put my keys, my purse, my checkbook, I even forgot the other day where I parked my car. Talk about way too much on my mind!
I'm glad you called the pharmacist and it's all worked out!
But know that I am going to get one of those pills boxes because I'm thinking it is just a matter of time before I do the same thing...

Bought the Jumbo Pill Box! Lots of room, very colorful....too many slots! Try to figure out the four time slots when you wake up at different times each day. Still can't remember to take them! Miss a day.....just try to remember what day I am on. Leave the lid open? Nope....too risky, I thought I forgot to fill them! Set them out in the morning? The cat decided they were perfect "Tic Tacs" to bat around...three hours later I was able to breath when I found the last one! Set them by your toothbrush? I set mine on top of my toothbrush and somehow they ended up in the toilet everytime! Have people remind you? After ten times, they figure if they remember to ask, you should remember to take them! Sigh.....Can't they just make a once a month patch? OK, I'll settle for the private male nurse that gives me my meds!! Teehee....♥Pammy0
