1) That I have the strength to open the front door on my own.
2) That I can close my own car door
3) That I do not have "skipping ropes" of drains attach to me and that I can move freely
4) That I do not have a water-balloon inside of me
5) That I can lift pots and pans on my own.
6) That I can give/ receive non-defensive hugs
7) That I can sleep in any position I want
8) That I can lay down in a bath and let the warm water slosh and roll all over me.
9) That I can sleep on any side I want to

    I don't think
that we realize sometimes(I know I don't) how much you miss something until it's gone or you can't do it! Glad that you can do all of those things again.

    more to be thankful for
    1. that I can sit on a kitchen chair and scoot it up to the table
    2. that I can sit in a recliner and lift the legs
    3. that I can shower
    4. that I can reach up and get a glass in the cupboard

all things I want to do BY MYSELF! Independence is so important!

(These were all things I couldn't do for weeks right after my bilateral mastectomy with DIEP reconstruction--in addition to opening the front door, getting out of bed, lots more that I can't even remember.)

    thankful
    1. That I haven't had to spend money on shampoo or hair cuts.

    2. That I don't have to do anything I don't want to do and just tell people it's because "I have cancer.

    3. That I have such a wonderful medical team. I've never met so many caring people.

And ... one of the things I'm most thankful for is:

    4. Finding this website and all of you wonderful sisters and brothers.

    hugs.

LOL! I love the additional weird things. There are so many things to be gratefull for that it to make lists of that would take for ever. I was specifically aiming this post for the everyday things that I have been taking for granted.

    Grateful for ALL that life
Grateful for ALL that life gives me, the good, the bad and the ugly. I can learn something from everything if I just look hard enough. I don't care if my glass is half full or half empty, I'm just glad I have a glass.

    Sometimes people should just
Sometimes people should just be grateful for all of the little things and not waste so much time and energy on things that are so unimportant. I always figure that if you have time to waste on stupid crap, you must be lonely and should get out and do something. Be with friends, volunteer, get a job, just do something. Then you won't be so focused on the silly things that happen in life just to you. You can focus on others.

Ok, that is my bit of wisdom.

    Blessings of Baldness
    Grateful for baldness because...

    1. As mentioned before no more hair product expense
    2. My granddaughter loves to put necklaces on me and all of her bald baby dolls...with grandpa he does not get a necklace she just pulls and pulls at his hair!
    3. No more worry of hair in my food.
    4. I can usually get a quick laugh by asking if a free haircut comes with a fillup, or if the new way I am wearing my part looks ok, or when baldheaded prop your sunglasses up on your head and ask if the sunglasses make you look bald
    5. People mistake me for great america guy and start humming the song...I love music!
    6. My roots aren't showing.
    7. Household safety - no more disposable razors in the shower stall!
    8. Don't have to worry about wind whipping hair in my face.
    9. Head dries quickly after showering or swimming.
    10. Don't have to carry around an autograph book at concerts.
