Hello - I am 27 years old, and a 25 year cancer survivor. The type of cancer I had was hemangeopericytoma(sp?) I had a year of chemo and radiation and have been considered cancer free since the age of 5. Ever since shortly after my hair coming back in following chemo, my hair seems to fall out at an alarming rate. Growing up I can recall my mother having me vacuum all of my hair up off the bathroom floor, each time I brushed my hair. I am now 27, and this problem seems to be getting worse. When I get out of the shower and my hair is wet, if I run my hands through my hair, I get a handful of hair. My parents have always been convinced that it is from the chemo that I had as a child, but no doctor has confirmed this. I would like to know if any other post chemo adults have experienced anything similar? If so, what, if anything, can I do about this? I'm a mom of 4 now, and have to clean my own house, which means, I end up stepping outside just to brush my hair!! HELP!
