Hi, I also had childhood Leukemia. Mine started at 2 and a have years old till I was about 7 or 8. I'm now 30. so that makes about 22 years now. its a tough fight when your that young. take care and many happy years ahead.

I also had ALL as a small child. 18 months old. I'm 26 now., so that makes about 24 years for me. I clearly remmember the last time I went for a bone marrow check when I was probably about 4 or 5. Don't remember much beyond that. Dr. Gross (his real name :) haha) told me he never wanted to see me again :) 24 years later, and I have only the most minor side effects (and none of them are directly due to the leukemia itself). hi my name is Vanessa, and i had all when i was 9 and then again at 12, now im 15 in march so i know how you all feel! i had a bone marro transplant and have missed almost 4 years of school in my short life. im now in high school and all is well, if anyone wants to talk please dont be afried to contact me. i may be young but my knowledge goes way beyond my age.i hope someone who needs this information see's this. and just remember everyone, live strong, wear yellow, and theres know such thing as its too late

I had ALL when I was 8 then again at 12 I am now 29

I have a child who is 7 he was diagnosed with ALL at age 4. He is now off chemotherapy since May. I am wondering how long it takes for the medicine side effects to truly leave the body? It seems he still fatigues easily. I am wondering how it was for you? He did not receive radiation, but chemotherapy.
It seems there is a lot of information for what happens during chemotherapy, but i'm wondering about post chemotherapy?

I'm 25. I had ALL at age 6. I never wanted to speak about it until I was 19. And suddenly, at 19, I became very interested by the subject and started to want to know everything about it. I'd very much like to speak about it with others who had leukaemia in their childhood.
I don't have bad memories about all that.

i had leukemia when i was a child if you still need someone to intervies i would be willing

Hi I'm Sarah and I ALL when I was five years old and I under went treatment until I was nine. I've also been in remission for 18 years and I'm turing 24 this October. I have learning disabilities from the chemo and as result of that I went to school for kids with learning disabilites from 7th grade until I graduated from high school. I also have problems socially as well. I'm in my last year of college and I love that fact my friends don't care that I don't drink very much but sometimes I do feel left out. I also have issues with boyfriends as in I've never had one, I've never even been on a date or been kissed by a guy. I got tested for my LDs when I was a kid so I'm not really sure how to go about doing that for adults. I would say call your hospital and ask for a diganostic test other than that I'm not sure.
