Does anyone suffer from oral and/or throat cancer as a result of smokless tobacco, more commonly known as chewing tobacco and/or spit tobacco?

    Skoal
    hagen,

I chewed Skoal for 25 years. From about ages 16 to 41. Chewing did quite a bit of erosion to my gums.

I also drank alcohol during most of that span as well. Between the two, go fish.....

Since my results came back negative for HPV, I assume my BOT cancer was self inflicted.

    cigs
My husband smoked the cheapest cigs he could find. He didn't start till age30 he thougt he would never get cancer because he started so late in life. Now he is intinsive care with a feeding tube, a port, and a tube to help him breath in his neck. All because of smoking. He said well I did it to my self. But all his family have to worry and feel so bad, Wish the younger people that are just starting out smoking could go to the hospital and see all the scary people that are just about to move on. We been to alot of hospials lately to many to count. Seen alot of bad stuff, I {starting smoking along before him} he said "I thought you would get cancer before me" anyway he is paying the price for his bad choice he made. Dosn't make it any easier on the family

    Hi Sue
Sorry to hear that, we all make some very bad choices in life that we wish we could change. I was hooked on Afrin for about 14 years, used it every night, after all it is a safe product so they say, 10 years later I had NPC Cancer.

Now going back I wish I never seen the stuff. There are so many things to day that can give us cancer; it is hard to know what to do or not do sometimes.

    Take care
