Weird Symptom

I had a total colectomy resection back in Sept of this year, but since they didn't close me up i didn't start chemo till this week. I have to go in for blood work on Monday so I figured I would mention it then. It only happened once so I am waiting to see if it happens again just to be sure.Lori-S said:Hi
I have heard of others having this problem. I haven't personally though I do get diarrhea. Have you had resection surgery of any kind yet? I know that others were told to call their oncologist when this happened.0 -

Did you alrady have your reversal/reconnection? or are you dealing with blood from the stoma? Make sure to mention it on Monday. Since it isn't ongoing you're probably ok. If you start to look pale or feel weak or tired though make sure to get in touch with the doc right away or go to the ER just to be safe.0 -

I didn't have to have an ileostomy my surgeon took all of my colon except just enough to reattach to the small intestine. I was left open and wore a wound vac for the last 2 months to close the incision. It was a wonderful thing I did get an infection but since I wasn't closed surgeon was able to go right in and he says power wash the site of infection and just put wound vac back on. It was a pain to lug around with me everyday but so worth it. So far I feel fine but if I start not to I will call the doc if I have to. Thanks0
