Road trip...Lena Rose said:Hi Irish
Dr. Posner, one of the speakers, is my husband's head doctor (no pun intended). He is an expert in HPV cancers. He told us the odds of beating this are very high-we're putting our faith in him!
Wouldn't it be great if we could actually go to this conference?????0 -

This whole thing with Joe seems so surreal since he was healthy and no symptoms or life style indicators for his HPV induced HNC. It would be really be great if more research and information comes out of all this - will be my silver lining in this cloud. Actually, I was one of those non-believers in the HPV vaccine for my daughter. Since this whole thing started, it certainly changed my mind and opinion on the vaccine for my daughter (and son).
Wish I could go to the conference certainly!

Dear Lena,
My onc was interested in whether the HPV vaccine would be helpful for us at this point.
What does your doctor think, and does it matter if you are HPV negative or positive re: receiving the vaccine?
Thanks

We were told that it would be of no use to get the vaccine now. My husband tested positive. I tested negative, but since we've been together for over 30 years I was probably positive at some point.0 -

produce antibodies, which should kill off the virus cells should they be introduced. If you have already had the Virus, you body would already have these antibodies, hence pointless to revaccinate, unless it acts as a 'booster'. Not sure on the last point.
