My mother was newly diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is a candidate for the WHipple procedure as the cancer is only 3/4" at this time and localized. She is 81 years old and in good health otherwise.
She is very scared and doesn't want to do the procedure. Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can say to encourage her to make a decision to have this surgery?
She survived colon cancer 14 years ago.
Thanks for any and all advice.

Hello,
You may want to contact individuals from this discussion board that have had a whipple procedure. You can do this by clicking on the envelope icon below their posting. They may be able to share their experiences to assist your mother.
Take care and be well,
Dana
