Did everyone see the most awesome example of surviving cancer (well, next to Lance Armstrong's biking triumphs, perhaps) on the 2005 Grammies? Melissa Etheridge, just fresh out of chemotherapy after breast cancer, hair not back yet, but happy and proud to be alive and surviving. Here's the video:

Also, she did and interview just aired last night on Dateline with Stone Philips where she talks all about her experience with chemotherapy:

Simply awesome. Very real. For a survivor 2 years out from chemo, I cannot stress to everyone enough that there are heroes out there, helping lead you through this...hold their hands, let them guide you. YOU WILL COME BACK...all the brain cells, all of you. I swear. ;-)Laura

Wow! Didn't see it. Don't have TV. Didn't know what I was missing. Am living in the country with an old man who has got a real bad attitude. I am not able to get a TV signal here and 'roomie' won't allow satelite or cable because it costs money. He really is trying to help but...
He took me in (along with my 2 horses and dog) after my partner of 10 yrs decided she "didn't like what the cancer had done to me". Anyway, it sounds like I really missed a good couple of shows. Darn the luck.0 -
I think that it was just terrific to see someone like Melissa Ethridge stand up in front of thousands upon thousands of people not only as a proud cancer survivor but also as a proud lesbian. Her courage was just awesome and if she made even one person stronger by showing it then it was worth while.0
