I did have a cortisone shot at the end of Jan. Debby. It helped for about 2 weeks and that was it. The injection I got this time is called Synvisc,it is a gel type substance that kinda cushions the joint. I think the knee is the only place they use it. I have arthiritis in it and several bone spurs. I have a tear in my meniscus too. The Dr seems to think the tear will heal, it wasn't to bad. I am just really wanting to avoid surgery if possible.
