Emotions&arimidex&tamoxofin
I have been a breast cancer survivor for 1-1/2 years now. I had a lumpectomy, radiation, and was placed on tamoxofin. I am 58 years old, had a complete hysterectomy when I was 39, so the combination of being suddenly taken off estrogen, plus taking tamoxofin threw me into a hot-flash tailspin. I was given medication to…

anyone out there with lobular breast cancer...cancerous calcifications...no lump?
I just need to find out how you are doing? Where you got information to help u make treatment decisions? I know 80% of breast cancer is ductal , and I keep reading about women feeling lumps. I don't fall into those categories.

cellulitis
IN Feb. of 2002, I had a lumpectomy followed by chemo and rads. After the original surgery, I had a nasty staph infection followed by the start of lymphadema. I've had therapy, have a sleeve, etc. and have been doing well despite a lot of edema from rads, but I now have cellulitis next to my lymph node incision - same…

chemo or not?HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a double mastectomy...negative nodes...apparently, cancer-free. As a preventative measure, my oncologist suggested I go through chemo and hormonal therapy. I opted for Tamoxifen, but now I'm thinking I should be more aggressive with treatment. Chemo+Tamoxifen=5%-10% chance of cancer reoccurene;Tamoxifen alone=10%-15%…

Thinning Hair
Hi Pat! I had four treatments of A/C followed by 12 weekly treatments of Taxotere (participated in a study). I lost all of my hair after my first tx of A/C just as the doctor predicted. My hair was very thick and after four days of handfuls coming out I shaved my head. It started to come back by the time I started the…

thinning hair
Hi, I had CMF chemo, my hair thinned quite a bit but I did not loose it all, i finished chemo last Oct., my hair came back nicely, wavey and thicker. When I had chemo 1998, CAF, I lost all the hair, was bald, wore a wig. Chemo reacts different with everybody. Be patient , it will come back. I wish you the best. banker

positive result with Faslodex for second-line treatment
I would like to share my mother's very positive experience with Faslodex to treat metastasized breast cancer. This cancer has spread to chest wall, bones and liver. She has been through every available oral medication and all have stopped working. She is 83, relatively frail and probably not a good chemotherapy candidate.…

Thinning hair
Hi PatV What you are describing is what happened to me after two rounds of AC. It started with just a few strands coming out and then, like you said, lots of strands came out in the shower and with running my hand through my hair. Because my doctor had told me that I would be losing all my hair, I shaved my head when I…

I don't have experience with taxotere, I was put on adriamycin and taxol. So my results maybe different from yours. I was told my hair would drasticly thin or come completely out..it came completely out. It started thining like you discribed then it began coming out in clumps. I couldn't handle it. After about 5 days I had…

Is this what they call "thinning"?
I had 4 rounds of CMF and just completed round 7 or 12 weekly taxotere treatments. I didn't have hair thinning on CMF but about a week ago my hair started coming out heavily in strands (not clumps). Every time I brush it hundreds of hairs fall to the bathroom floor and when I run my fingers through it, I come up with more…

No Shame in Anti-depressants to Cope
It seems as though a lot of us are feeling down, even way down. I too "crashed" a few days ago. I told my doctor and she prescribed Zoloft immediately. This is already very helpful. I think with the diagnosis, the surgery, the doctor appointments, etc, etc,.. my head was spinning so fast that after 6 weeks post-surgery…

Need help with coping
I been reading the messages. I am having coping and my prognosis is good. Radiation was not recommended. I was diagnosed in the pre-cancerous stage(DCIS). I had a tram flap and was doing great till I saw the oncologist. He wanted me to go back and see the radiologist because he was unsure of the margins on the path report.…

skin sparing mastectomy
I had a skin sparing mastectomy with a tram flap. The Doctor told me after surgery that some breast tissue was left behind in order to support the graft. I would like to speak with anyone who has had this type of surgery. I need to talk. I am becoming increasingly worried that I made the wrong decision.
