Staples and stitches instead of steri-strips

in Breast Cancer #1

I have staples on the incision for the sentinel node removal and stitches where the cancer was removed curving around my left breast. Its only been 3 days but I look horrible.  I searched through the archives but couldn't find anyone who had staples who had healed already. I'm just trying to prepare myself for what to expect cosmetically. Anyone healed from staples yet? Are the scares very noticeable?

    both lumpectomies i had

    both lumpectomies i had stictches...my breast is mis-shaped of course , but even DRs have trouble finding my scars (2 different cuts)

     

    IT took a long time for them not to be seen (by me in the mirror)

    Hi Nia,

    I had strips and stitches on my drain areas and double mastectomy with 18 nodes removed. My chest looked like a war zone but totally got better with time. I am shocked how much better it got and the scars really do get better.  I used Emu oil for my scars and aloe vera gel after it was all removed and drains out.
