Latest scan

Last Thursday I got my latest scans. Everything is stable. Then while watching the Big Bang Theroy on demand I see an ad for OPDIVO aka nivolumab. Peeps there may be light at the end of the tunnel.......

    That ad...

My oncologist wife was mad. My cancer riddled self ROTFL. Everyone happy clappy with 9 months extra life and other meaningless stats May result in death. Very funny, posted within a week of the academic paper. It was so obscene it was either funny disgusting or both

    I don't get it. . .

First, YAY for stability in Ed. Awesome.

Second, WTF with a commercial for a drug like that? Like there are SO MANY other BETTER options they need to advertise? I guess I don't see the point of advertising for a drug like this. I guess I just don't understand the point of advertising. Opdivo versus Keytruda, who has the better commercial is CLEARLY the one to choose? I guess perhaps someone in advertising might be able to explain.

I think because it was just approved by the FDA. And was pulled early from phase 3.

    Its very good news

My wife is unimpressed with the size of the testing sample, but its a whole new direction in the treatment of our cancer. Its just that the advert was in such poor taste and broadcast within a week of the paper being published.
