pain in my jaw bone

in Head and Neck Cancer #1

Hi. I have a question please.. im 17 months out of treatment for stage 3 throat cancer hpv neg. In the last week I  have been experiencing dull aches in both sides of my jaw, is this just another late side effect. I find myself worrying over even the littlest things i guess. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you. I am having some upper respiratory issues right now, taking antibiotics, steroids, etc. Im not sure it isnt from coughing so darn hard. Thank you.

    As Candy said...

    always run anything new by your ENT.  I can tell you that I have jawbone aches that come and go....I've had many scans and so far it's not cancer. Laughing  Therefore it's either a side effect from rads....or nowdays I pay such close attention to things, that for all I know, I've had minor jaw aches forever and didn't pay attention to them.

    i agree with the others,

    i agree with the others, mention it to your doc.  i always call when something new pops up.  my moto:  better safe than sorry :0)

    Here i am, eight days

    Here i am, eight days later..changed antibiotics yesterday and got a chest xray. Family doc says they found a "nodule" on my lung. He said he would fax the report to my cancer doc. Im kind of nervous..not sure how i am feeling really.

    I hope you hear from your doc soon.  Remember, it isn't cancer until they tell you it is.  Let's hope it is just a scare.

    All quite normal

    Inyert, don't lose a lot of sleep over the jaw pain or the lung nodule. I 'm six years out and have jaw pain all the time. I also have 4 lung nodules and they have not changed one iota in size in six years. More than likely the nodule was there before the cancer. Certainly mention it to your ENT but don't keep this at the forefront of your thoughts. All the best!
