Newly Diagnosed

Hello Everyone,

Hope all that open this message is feeling well and in good spirits.  I have come to this site because my aunt that is much like a mother to me has been told she has a bladder tumor that is inoperable.  Long story short-  She lives in Puerto Rico and has been going to the doctor for the past 7 months.  Her primary care doctor told her that she was fine and kept giving her antibiotics to treat a chronic UTI that would not go away, within 6 months she has lost over 50 pounds and has anemia.  I booked her a flight to come see me in Florida to get her some help.  As soon as I picked her up from the airport I took her straight to Clevland Clinic here in Weston, FL.   They did a scan and told her she has a bladder tumor.  They had to put in nephrotomy tubes to save her kidney because they said the tumor is blocking her uterers.  A abnormal fisutla connecting the bladder and vagina was also found.  They did a biopsy in hospital and discharged her.  She is now home resting with me.  She does not have insurance here until September and I do not know what to do until then.  Does anyone know if the biopsy results can be told to us over the phone?  She was suppose to get lab work done today and see her internal medicine doctor on Friday but I had to cancel the appointment because they asked us to pay out of pocket 100% for everything and we cannot afford that right now.  I've started giving her wheatgrass shots.  Anyone had any success with wheatgrass?

I would appreciate any input , advice , opinions ANYTHING would be great!  I am new to all of this and I am trying to help her the best I can.  Thank you all!

    No Insurance

Check in with the Cleveland Clinic - most hospitals have some sort of financial assistance office to help with situations like this.
