I posted here previously here about my ordeal with this and having it removed etc, and am so delighted today to hear the good news that my biopsys are clear - no evidence of further dysplasia.Smile Even though, reading other peoples posts, this wasn't as serious a situation as others were in, it has certainly been hugely stressful. It's the follow up now that worries me?  I only found out as I was at my GP and she had had a letter from my Consultant ( he is on hols at present) I expect to hear from him soon but the letter said he would see me again in a year for more biopsies. Is this enough? Should I ask, am I entitled to ask for more? What is the protocol?   Is it possble to have one of these growths and never have onde again?

I probably sound petty as what I have is not and never was as serious as the problems others here have but I have spent a whole year worrying constantly about it and wonder if I'll ever stop.

Wishing everyone all the best.

    Good site

I am like you '12345'.  I have just had yet another surgery to remove what I hope will be the last bit of cancer.  I am to follow up with my surgeon next week.  He told me after surgery I would be having another examination to check for more, later this year (every 6 months to begin with).  I feel blessed that it was caught so early, yet still feel full of questions.  I found UC-San Fran just last week when I was trying to figure out what was happening and it was a blessing to find.  I was actually thinking of printing out the section on anal cancer surgery and give it to my surgeon, as it was full of helpful information.  I don't want to offend him though.  I have come to the conclusion that this cancer is so rare, especially in my area, that it could very well be that they are learning as they go.
