Hi all!

My mom is about 3 months out of treatment, she had her tborough check up last week. Her colorectal surgeon said all looked good, and maybe a biopsy in 3 months. Her energy is coming back slowly, she occasionally has some accidents (rarely) she is back to work part time. She did say she had some discomfort in her hips I told her what I've read on here its normal from radiation? Maybe some PT will help? Also ocassinally some sorness in that area , I think it's from sitting to long she commutes 2 hrs to work 2-3 days a week. She is still dissapointed she is not back to living her "normal" life I remind her of where she was 3-4 months ago. Again thank you all for the support and information through this journey!

Good checkups are the best!  Laughing  It sounds like your Mom is recovering "normally".  I'm two years, 4 months post treatment and still have hip discomfort and pinching at times, a weekly gentle yoga class really helps me.  I continue to have frequencey & urgency issues (and minor accidents now and then).  Recovery is a slow process but each month gets better.

    Hi

    Hello

Your mum is about four months behind me post treatment. I was thinking how amazing it is that she can commute two hours, i would really struggle with that. I may be more advanced in other ways, it is interesting how the recovery process works foreach individual. The urgency has improved for me in the past three months, still not all gone but better and i can feel the energy levels improve. I know the feeling of wanting to be back to normal- we are getting there. I had the  biopsy at 7 months post tx- awaiting results.

Your situation sounds similar to ours as you write for about your mum. It must be so hard having to deal with this happening to your parent and so i wonder if perhaps you and Adam as caregivers could find support in writing to each other, please do if you feel this would help.

    Wishing you well
