it has been 5 years since the diagnosis and treatment. I was good for the first 3 follow up colonoscopies. Then my husband passed away in Nov. 2012and to be honest, i just didn't care. Finally decided to get checked. They found 2 polyps and I'm just wondering, any body else have new polyps after . If so , what were the results.

    Welcome back

Please accept my sincere sympathy on the passing of your husband. I can only begin to imagine the pain of living without the love of your life.

I have read others here who have had polyps years out from being clear of Cancer. Normally they are removed, biosied and have been benign.  Here is praying that yours will come back as such.

Weekends are rather slow here, so stick around and I'm sure people will pop up with answers for you.

I can well imagine not caring

I can well imagine not caring about a lot of things after the death of a spouse. I am so sorry to hear of your husband's death.

I, too, am 5 years out. I had a colonoscopy last Thursday ( my first time going 2 yrs) and had 6 polyps!  Waiting for results.  I have had at least one polyp every time since diagnosis and it has always been benign.

I am hoping we will both continue to be NED.

    I really hope they're

I really hope they're nothing.  Sometimes a polyp is just a polyp.  Interestingly enough, I just had a clean colonoscopy and told the doctor that every two years is fine going forward, you just made me change my mind!  As my counselor says, give yourself a break.  Sometimes other things take precedence, you have to let yourself be.  Can only work in the future.  Let's hope they're nothing.

    About those polyps

I just had my first round of post-treatment annual tests and the gastro doc found three polyps via colonoscopy. All were benign ("precancerous" in their wods). To me, this is the best possible reason to plan on continuing with the once-yearly schedule to have my gut checked.

    Polyps

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  I've had several polyps since I was diagnosed with Stage I colon cancer in 2006. The first few were pre-cancerous so I stayed on a 3-year colonoscopy schedule.  The last couple were benign and now I'm on the 5-year plan. Hope this gives you encouragement.

    good news

got my results today and the polyps showed no sign of cancer. God is good. Thanks again for your encouraging remarks. I pray that each of you gets good news too. When we are diagnosed with cancer we all panic and fear the worst, but we need to learn to trust in the one who already knows what our future holds. Live each day to the fullest and love each other while we can.  Love to all of you.
