Two to go !!!!!

Options

Hello all, I hope each of you had a safe and happy holiday season.

I am down to 2 days of radiation to go !....It's a good thing as I have always wanted a deep dark tan..well not on my bucket list anymore!...My neck and shoulder area so reddish/brown, if not for the pimples and the long sores running in my laugh lines ( I don't call them wrinkles anymore ) I would have shown it off. ~smile~

Found out the issue with my PEG unit...I had tests done to see why everything just came back up or soured and had to be let out through the tube. I have a ( Delayed Stomach ) called Gastroparesis. So now I can only have 50 CC of water or ensure, shakes etc...in my mouth or tube every two hours. Everyone telling me I will starve at that rate. I go back to see him early March to see if working..if not..and they feel I still need one, will place it in my small intestines.

I have lost a little over 26 pounds, but I could have lost most of that anyway. I'll try a tad more nourishment at times to see what happens. The Doc did say the ideal situation was to use a PEG in a working stomach, I looked at him and asked why he didn't see if mine was working properly. He knew I had issues prior to getting the big  (((C)))...Oh well we now know what the issue is, so we can move forward.

Looking forward to the next two days ! Sending prayers and hugs to all.....Kritter

    Kritter,

I think I hear a little lilt in your words. You truly are close to the end.

Not that it matters, but I asked if my wife could watch one rad session and she did (and she enjoyed it).

    Good luck, Gastroparesis and all.

    Almost there!

You did it! I'm so happy for you.  It's good that you finally have an answer to your feeding issues. I wonder if Erbitux causes it because I had problems too. They gave me  Metoclopramide  to help food move through the digestive system. It did help. Hang in there and let the healing begin!

    WHOO HOO!!!!

OMG....I am SO excited for you!!  By Weds, this will be behind you....healing maybe slow, but it's a hell of lot better than treatment!  26 lbs isn't a bad loss during this treatment.....nobody gets through it without losing some.....but after hearing of so many losing 50, 60, 80, even 100 lbs....26 is great, especially considering your PEG and tummy didn't have a loving relationship....

We'll be waiting to hear that you rang that bell...even if they don't have one there, Matt has one in his back yard :).

Just two to go.....Then you ring that bell

Just two left, we all new you could do it. You're at the end of the bumpy road and now on the slip n slide while it finishes cooking. You did great, and we're proud for you. Remember to celebrate each little gain you have.

Your the little engine that could, and did.

    II more

Be ready to ring the bell tomorrow and like me I thanked everyone there and said I hope the next time I meet any of you it will be at a Wal-Mart or something. I never heard of a Delayed Stomach but I guess everything is possible, after the rad treatment stops tomorrow it will take a little time but soon you should be able to start eating through your mouth again. Keeping you in prayer
