possible right lung nodule - ugh not a day to get the report

Options

what a day to get the results of my chest xray/MRI.  the dr's office just sent me a copy from Monday's test and on the X-Ray it says:

there is a faint nodule with the right lung,  seen on the frontal projection only.  This is projected between the posterior interspace of the sixtha nd seventh ribs.  The lungs appear otherwise clear.

Impression:  possible right lung nodule:  recommend ct correlation

I was diagnosed 12/12/12 with stage 1A grade 3 cancer,  chemo/internal radiatoin first part of 2013, finished on 5/2013.

wasn't really expecing to read this on the report and waiting to talk to dr.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this and could chime in.

as you would expect my mind is racing and taking turns with my emotions.

Thanks and hope everyone is enjoying getting ready for the holidays tonight

    Hey, Merry Christmas

Sorry about the new finding....it is a "new" finding?  I am UPSC 1a, grade c also.  I have three nodes in my lungs, one in one, two in the other.  I don't know if they were always there, body junk, or if they found then on an x ray at some point.  They look at the xray once a year, haven't changed since 2010.  Just one more thing to keep you on the edge of your seat!  So much for "no stress", right?!  I am still Ned 4 1/2 years, but now something else is raising it's ugly head.  Had to have my aortic valve replaced before hysterectomy, now, five years later I already have to have it replaced.  For some reason this second one seems to scare me more  than the first one.  I had hoped to get more years out of it than five.  Oh well, it's always something.  Try not to worry too much, I do know what you're going through.  Have your test on the 26th and more than likly   it will be a "watch and see" type of thing.  Best, Debrajo

    thank you

thanks so much for responding and sharing your situation.   Yes it is a new finding so that is what the attention is about. In the last 3 hours i have become an expert in lung nodes!,    It is so encouraging to see others thriving and can't wait until I hear your screams and shouts at 5 years!.   The Dr. did call and said she put the order in for the CT Scan and hopefully they will call on Friday but be patient until early next week.  I am sorry about having to replace your arotic valve.  With the advances in the medical field I am hoping that this time it lasts you many more years.  Merry Christmas to you too and hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday with your family and firends

I have one also and no one is concerned.  I am 2  3/4 years post surgery for stage 1a UPSC and doing well.  Keep calm till you know more.  We well know that we can't afford to waste a single day borrowing trouble.

    Hi:

Regarding the lung nodules, I had a few that were watched, and from my CT scans as I now have one done every year, the nodules have remained stable and some have shrunk.  They were first noticed in 2007 and then I saw a pulmonary specialist for a couple of years and then I was diagnosed with UPSC in 2011, clinically stage 1 and I did not go back to see the pulmonary specialist as I was taking care of getting treatment for UPSC meaning chemo and radiation.  But from all my recent cat scans, the nodules have remained stable.

I would have them watched if I were you, and if you feel you must go see a pulmonary specialist, by all means do so, otherwise, when your oncologist orders a CT scan, he can tell you the results also. It is up to you.  At this point for me, I am almost 4 years NED of UPSC.  Since my nodules are stable and have shrunk, I won't go back and see the pulmonary specialist.

I never smoked so I wondered how these nodules even came about and was surprised that I got them.

      I wish you Happy Holidays.

    Cheerful

    Nodules

A nodule also showed up on both my lung and liver.    These can apparently be part of your 'make up'    Grade 3/4 and 7 years on they remain unchanged.

Very best wishes to all for the New Year.

    thank you everyone

thanks so much for all the replies.  it does help you stop reading the internet on every test result you get.  The Dr. called me Christmas eve and told me she ordered a Cat Scan which will be conclusive as X Ray's aren't always accurate.  so have it next Tuesday at 2;30.  hoping that will give me results before New Years

but thanks again for all the responses it does help
