edited November 2014 in Colorectal Cancer #1

... Thorsten had his app with the gastro-doc which confirmed he had cancer. So today 3 years ago his,our journey stared.

In the following weeks and months he had surgery to remove the tumor and 2 mets on his liver, got an temporary Ileostomy, had 6 months of Oxi and Xeloda and finally got his ileo taken dow. Since then he is monitored closely by his Onc. CT every 6 to 9 months, blood checked and sonography regularry. In Summer 2013 there was a suspect area on his peritoneum but during surgery it was confirmed that it was nothing to worry about. Since then every check so far came back clear. His last CT was 4 weeks ago and all is perfect including his CEA at 0.8.

I really have to say thank you to all of you and this great board. You were so much help for me and provided so much support during those last 3 years. We lost so many members in that time, many that helped me a lot during the first horrible time. I will never forget you!

And to all of you my american and international friends:  Thank you so much!

A big hug from Cologne, Germany.

Petra

    Looking upward and forward

Its an awful feeling, looking back at the bad times. Make it a quick review and then move on forward with the joy that NED brings.

Funnily, my 2 year anniversary is in a few days.

Great news?  Keep it up. Eat

Great news?  Keep it up. Eat some healthy organic salads now and then, lessen stress, a bit of exercise and hopefully NED for life.
