tx's done on Friday (brother)

Hello everyone,

Well he's finished as of Friday morning and doing very well.  We had one major set back last week.  His blood panels had been off (chemo and hydration issues).  The magnesium level was at danger level (way too low) so through the IV they gave him a supp.  But it was as with other meds suppose to take time and drip slow.  Well there was a slip up and he got it all in a few minutes.  He said his body felt on fire and his heart rate went bonkers.  He said when they rushed the crash cart in he thought to himself (damn I'm kicking the cancer and this will take me out ?) 

Long story short, all got figured out and he's on a pill form of magnesium for a few more weeks.  He's in a hurry to have answers on everything now.  They staged him a 4 as nodes were involved.  Which upset him, as in the beginning they told him a 2.  His medical onc, is very good at explaining things, but as quite a few of us know getting our feet wet in understanding all of this takes time.  The tx's would stay the same regardless, it's the rechecks that will be a bit different. 

All in all I think he's an awesome example, as other's I've seen on board here of pushing through and being determined to get back to life.  I told him, (as his little sister) I think of him as super man.  He now understands this wicked walk, and the compassion I hear in his words for others in the fight makes me very proud to call him a survivor/warrior. 

They have a bell on their pontoon.  Sometime this coming weekend he intends to ring it loudly, flying his pirate flag and catch a few walleye.  I'll try my best to get some pictures.  Hugs sent out to all, and thank you for the support in his fight !   Katie
