Treatment is over!

Options

Hello, I have finished treatment 32 rads and 1 cisplatin and 4 rounds of erbitux. Now comes the healing part. I really hope that my taste comes back, because right now everything tastes like chalk. I am pushing myself everyday to do as much as I feel I can. The attitude is still positive considering how awful the last couple weelks of rads were. I can still swallow pretty well and Have found the only thing that tastes ok is frunit punch Gatorade. Right now I eat just to survive. To everyone still going through treatment keep your your chin up and you will get through it.

best wishes, RJ

So good to hear you made it through the tx's !  Let the healing begin.  Give yourself some time, things will come around.  One day at a time, and you'll find your abi-normal self.  You have a fantastic and positive attitude !  Warm wishes sent !  Katie

    Yes you did it.

4 1/2 months after rads and I can still remember the chalk and cardboard taste, but food actually tastes good now and you will enjoy it more very soon.  I swore I would never eat cream of wheat again, but I still do and enjoy it even more now.  I can do oatmeal and blueberries and maple syrup with no gagging.

    Congrats!

    Whoo Hoo for you!!!

Now it's time to heal.....keep your expectations low, as healing takes a while.  But it won't be long before this is history, and your new abi-normal self will get on with life!
