I am SO lucky . . . .

Have managed mostly to forget about PPC for more than a week, among people who don't have a clue I'm "sick." Daily walking tours are a bit more than I bargained for, but I'm managing. It's back to chemo a week from today, but meanwhile am enjoying a fabulous trip with my husband. I wish the same for all my sisters & brothers on CSN.

    The ca125 nightmare!

Hi carol I'm back after a few months of getting my head around this hideous cancer and feel flat again! I've been reading your posts about the rise and falls of ca125 and am sick of doctors saying don't worry your still in the so called safe zone!!!! My ca125 was 9 in May and tests last week saw it on 28! I feel scared and they've told me to wait another 4 weeks to see what happens! I feel ok apart from generally a bit tired. Does the ca125 ever stay stable for long?? I only finished chemo in December. It's too soon for it to start rising don't you think?

i hope your doing ok and hanging in there! My prayers are always with everyone here❤️Xx

    God bless

    CA 125

Worrying about that darn CA 125 is a b!+ch, isn't it? I too fussed when mine kept rising, late last year & early this year. But I'm now better at ignoring it, or at least not letting it dominate my thinking. Don't know if you saw my latest Caring Bridge post, after a visit to my surgeon a few weeks ago. My CA 125 has been jumping around in the 45-55 range of late. It had been descending, & I told him I was disappointed it hadn't descended to normal range. His exact words: "These numbers are garbage." He went on to say he had a patient who went for a decade with results like mine. She went back on chemo whenever her numbers rose. Both the surgeon & the oncologist say I should continue on Carboplatin only every 3 weeks, & I'm happy with that plan.

I know I've seen posts both here & on the ovarian cancer forum from people who've had their CA 125 in the normal range for months or years, so it must be possible. It seems almost everyone is different, so I don't know what to say about what to expect. I think I've reached a point where I'm better able to accept that what happens, happens, & when I need a new treatment plan there will be something available.

    Very best wishes to you,

    Carole
