Ultrasound question

in Breast Cancer #1

First a little history about me: I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma in February and had a partial nephrectomy. Prior to this I was a very healthy 31 year old. Last week I found a lump in my left breast go I had a mammogram and ultrasound yesterday. I got the results today and the mammogram really did not show anything but the u/s report read:" hypoechoic area probably benign." this has brought so much anxiety into my life as the first ct I ha of my kidney showed cyst with little possibility of malignancy!!! So it's kind of like déjà vu all over gain. The u/s report was very vague and did not give any Measurements. Any thoughts??

    I initially had a mamo, with

    I initially had a mamo, with an ultrasound on one side.  When the two showed a problem on the one side, I then had an MRI to be sure about things.  The MRI showed a problem starting on the other side, so then I had an ultrasound when I had my initial biopsies. The ultrasound confirmed suspicious stuff on the other side, so I had biopsies there.

    Do what you can to be sure about things.

    Check with your oncologist

    Hi, first off take a big breath. I know how scary these things can be, I am a kidney and breast cancer survivor myself. If you have an oncologist, please, call him and talk with him/her about your anxiety over the ultrasound findings and that you would like to have whatever test to give you assurance that everything is fine. If you're not under an oncologists care for your RCC then start with your ob/gyn.  Usually if you have a lump and the u/s showed something, even "probably benign" the imaging center or your doctor will suggest a biopsy to see whats what. I would say that is your next move, its the only to way to know for sure what's going on. Good Luck to you
