melanoma after breast cancer?

in Breast Cancer #1

I have to see the doctor about an odd brownish "growth" on my "big" toenail, or under it, can't really tell.   At first, I thought maybe I injured it,  but didn't remember.  But now, it just stays there and doesn't grow out with my nail.   :(

I already had squamous cell carcinoma about 7 months ago.......just worried.

Does anyone know if melanoma and breast cancer are linked in any way?

    Fungus?

    Toe nails take 'forever' to grow out.   It is not unusual after chemo to develope fungus issues with nails which takes diligence to get cleared up.  I've had to deal with it twice since end of TX.   A friend of mine who had gone through BC TX years ago had such problems with nail fungus she finally had to have hertoe nails surgically removed.

    Can BC  metasize to skin - yes as it can to other parts of the body but it is still BC even when in different areas.  IBC is one BC type that 'likes' to go to the skin but is not common.

    In the last year, I had developed Basal Cell Caarcinoma, Squamous Cell In Situ and Squamous Cell Carcimona.  The path reports all show that there is no relation to IBC.  It was not unexpected - I've been having pre-cancerous lesions 'burned/frozen' off for years thanks to being really 'white' and spending so much time outdoors.  So some spots didn't stay gone with 'burning/freezing' off and had to be cut out.   Thanks to having a fantastic PA, we've kept on top of them and removed when very small.  Unfortunately though, I have some new spots that have to be checked further later this week.  But no - from all I know the BCC, SCIS and SCC has no relationship to my IBC according to all my Drs.

    good to know

    Thank you for sharing......I am going to my long time dermatologist on Monday and go from there.

    I guess our bodies will never be the same, and ANYTHING different, I worry. So, fungus is a better problem, I think :)
