Try again to contact them.  If you were close before your diagnosis and treatment, you will reconnect.  You don't say if they are younger or older than you but the loss of your mom to cancer was apparently difficult for them.

Just remember friends are important, too.  Get out and live your life and don't worry about the sister thing.  One day you'll talk about this time with them and you will probably hear they were afraid to get too close.

You've lived with the beast: you are stronger now.  Cancer affects people in many ways.  Do not waste valuable time and energy stressing about what is probably just a difficult time for all.

Go live your life, Kay.  They'll catch up later.
