12 hours and I'll be under the knife!

Today we had the funeral service for my Grammy, which kept me busy all day until around 7 pm. It was a beautiful service, and I will miss her dearly. Since she lived with us, there are so many things that remind me of her in our home.

Now that things are settling down, I realized that in 12 hours I will be in the OR. I wish I had asked for something to help me sleep tonight. My surgery is an open partial left nephrectomy. I'll post again as soon as I am able...

I just had it four weeks ago - it's not as bad as you would think.

Get pillows for under your knees when you sleep. That will help. Also, it was helpful to put the heating pad on A VERY LOW SETTING for the incision. I found it helped with the pain. I stress - the lowest setting .

They used glue to close mine.

I hope the surgery is quick and uneventful and that your recovery is fast with as little pain as possible.

Mom, so sorry for the loss of your grammy.  She was, no doubt, watching over you in surgery and I know you will come thru just fine.  Wishing you a speedy and full recovery!

Sorry I missed saying good wishes before you went in.  And my condolences on the loss of your grandmother.

By the time you read this, you will be on your way to an uneventful recovery, we hope.  Take it slow and easy.

Best Wishes....Donna

I'm so sorry I wasn't on to offer my condolences on the loss of your Grammy, and to offer my prayers and good thoughts on your extremely successful open partial nephrectomy today.....and I KNOW it was successful and that you will be fine. (((Gentle hugs)))

Sorry I was not able to offer my sympathy on your loss or to wish you well before your surgery.

But I wanted to be here to welcome you home! Lots of positive thoughts  for a very successful and uneventful surgery.

Hand squeeze. . .
