Had my stress test Sept. 4 and Cardio Doctor said everything looks good! Got a call this morning to please come in to office to discuss blockage! Really, 11 days before my 8 month scan! I was already anxiety stressed to the max, and now this! I am just hoping and praying that it is nothing.  I have a call into my ONC Dr. to see if any of this is going to affect one or the other.  Anyone with any good news? I could sure use some right now!

Well, when it rains it pours..but you have to look on the bright side. If it is a blockage, thank God that they found it incidentally, and you did not just drop dead or have a heart attack. There are so many things they can do now with blockages, and it might just be a minor thing. So count yuor blessings, see your doctor, and let us know how you are!

Praying it is not serious. John also was given a scare when having a stress test approximately 18 months ago at Hopkins. I believe it was prior to his beginning his current trial, but I can't confirm at the moment because he is napping, and I don't want to wake him up and ask him to refresh my memory. So I'll post now based on my memory and update later if need be.

Anyway, while in the middle of the tests, a doctor's assistant stopped the testing telling him he had a heart blockage. She was quite vocal about the issue  keeping him out of the trial and he called me at work quite upset. Not sure what his blood pressure was when the tests started  but I guarantee it was off the charts when he called me. He, usually calm, was quite rattled. And, of course, it was one of the few occasions I wasn't with him at the hospital due to a work comitment and my belief that he would just be undergoing routine tests.

Anyway, after hours of waiting, the stress tests were continued. His doctor told him he had a bundle branch block, but it was quite possible he had had it his entire life. He advised he may want to see a cardiologist at some point in the future to monitor, but it posed no immediate danger. The problem was not nearly as serious as his assistant had suggested. He has over the past year added cardiologist to his list of doctors but he suffers no ill effects and it is not something his doctors appear too worried about.

Only sharing hoping your situation is something similar. Will keep fingers and toes crossed.

Alice,

I can always count on you to make someone feel better.  Thank you so much for your's and John's experience, hopefully mine will also be just something that will just bare watching.  All my concentration right now is focussed on my CAT Scan which will take place on Friday, Oct. 11.  I have been feeling really well, so I am very optimistic about this scan being able to continue being clear!

Alice some people are just born nice, others have become that way because of major changes in their life, and then there are the Angels sent from God to help keep us all straight, which would be you and John! Thank you Alice for your courage and kind words all the time.

My appointment is at 1:30 today to discuss the results of my Sept 4 stress test and a possible blockage.  I am praying for something that will only bare watching and everything ok otherwise.  I have my 7 month CT Scan scheduled for Oct 11 at 9:30 am and am hoping that nothing will interfere with that.  My kidney function test was yesterday, praying that will be good so scan can be performed on the 11.  So many contingencies, and trying to keep anxiety at bay! Will let everyone know the results of Stress tests findsing later today.

My thanks to all for always being here with loving support, courage, and encouragement!

There is a shadow on the underside of my heart that the cardiologist thinks may be clogged, to find out if it is they need to insert dye into my heart.  In most cases this is no big deal, but because I only have one kidney, and the test for kidney cancer also requires dye, the heart test will take a back seat until I get the results of my next cancer scan, which is next Friday Oct. 11.  The Cardilogist seems very optimistic because right now I am showing no other symptoms, my husband is set on getting a second opinion before we do anything regarding sending more dye into my body.

I want to thank everyone again for being here for me, you will never know how much your responses mean to me! I am only concentrating on getting a clear scan on Oct. 11, results day will be Oct. 18.

Love and prayers for good health to you all!
