For recurrence originally treated surgically, surgeon does not recommend at my age of 56, additional surgery due to complications, dangerous possibilities  and even the D word. So it's back to radiologist to determine if I can have a second rad session. Depends on how much, where and type of previous rad treatment.

Chemo alone will not kill the cancer so I am once again placing A LOT of hope on rad/chemo.

Something I did not know is that the achalasia and squamous cell connection is well know and may take 20-30 years to develop.  I had my heller myotomies in 1979 & 1980 some 32 years before the first occurrence.

So again I am faced with more waiting... 2 1/2 months now!!!!
