Sorry, it took me so long to reply. Had to wait to get to work and use the computer. For some reason can't make responses post here on my phone. All is great. The CT Scan report said NO EVIDENCE OF METATSTIC DISEASE!!!! Have one more CT Scan of chest to have done since the chest X-ray showed something. Going to have it tomorrow. Dr. Levenbach said he is pretty sure there is nothing but wants to be 100 percent. My CA 125 went from 62 down to 51. Nurse practitioner said it can be elevated due to a number of reasons. I am so relieved....he wants to check the CA 125 again in 3 months.
Thank you guys so much for the concern, prayers and wonderful support. Love you...praying for us all to be blessed. I know prayers are answered.....
Now they didn't do the CT originally with the chest area included, as how mine is done. In any event, things are looking great for you and know you have a huge army of troopers here to give you support and pray.
My CA125 went from 5 to 11 and my doc didn't have a concern even CT showed something on chest, but not suspicious, so unconcerning. I did hear all about the things which cause the tumor marker to change, such as a cold or inflammation.
I know it would have been a lot more convenient for me to have had the chest CT done when I had the others done. I believe it has something to do with the insurance and they have to justify having a CT done as opposed to a cheaper test. Again keeping my fingers crossed to see what this last test result shows. He was pretty sure there was nothing but want to be 100 %. He is thorough.
The doctor said that the CA 125 can be elevated for a lot of reasons. I have had some problems with sinus and allergies which are causing me to have some chest congestion from drainage. I don't think they know for sure to be honest.
Thanks again for you support...hugs to you too. Norma
Lets hope the chest CT results will be great too.....then we can breath a real collective sigh of relief. Sorry we were not able to connect with the change in our appointment times.
My appointment went well and I just got my CA 125 results. Up just slightly but well within normal at 17.1. I too have had a bug in the last week with a temperature. Any inflammation can cause an increase so I am happy with where things are at. Now on 6 month screenings. When I asked Dr Levenbach if there was anything new related to the treatment of UPSC he indicated that one of the directions the new president of MD Anderson is taking is to identify certain cancers where they feel they may be close to finding a cure and fast track the research in these areas. One of these areas is clear cell ovarian cancer and any breakthroughs in this area should have a positive impact on the treatment of UPSC.
Can't tell you how much I appreciate being able to access this board and share experiences with others in the same boat. Thanks everyone for your knowledge and caring. Susan
I am so happy you got a good report. Sounds like your doctor covers all the bases. Will continue prayers the last scan will turn out well. You can relax a little now. Thoughts with you!
Thank God Norma and Susan! I almost had a panic attack and then couldn't get the internet to work! I am so relieved and I am sure the lung scan will be like mine...just "body junk" that doesn't mean a thing! Please keep us posted on tomorrow ! Best, debrajo
Glad to see you are posting again and that the CT scan was clear. It is always good news to here that. My 125 went up this last time but only .5.
My sister got all concerned. I told her what the dr told me the last time unless it goes up double digits then I am not to worry, so I don't. The frist time it went up by .3 I freaked out. The next time I had it done it went down 1.2 so it does fluctuate. I also look at it as if the number is below what it was before I was DX which was 15 then I am doing good.
Prayers to you and your family and all the ladies and their familes on this board. Special group of people. trish
