mets in the bones

hello to all does any body here know if cold weather can make bone mets start to hurt? i have been doing ok until the last week or so. i am stage 4 now with mets to my bones. they were going to do surgery until the last min. scan and found the mets. chemo has for the last 6 months kept the cancer in check. last pet scan 3 weeks ago was the same as before. doc thought that was great. he went on to say that sooner or later the beast will most likely take over and end my life. best to all

    Oh, Ray...
Sorry to hear about the spread. It's tough to say if colder weather affects bone mets the same way it would arthritis. Your doc is right... this could potentially end your life. But then again, you could choke on a cornflake or your heart could stop... just like me and every other human on the planet. Don't let this OWN you. My Dad has been Stage IV since August of 2010. He has mets to his liver and bone... the docs gave him 4 months to live, but here we are. It can be managed. Don't give up. There are good listeners here. I am here. If you need it, I can listen.

i am glad your dad is doing
i am glad your dad is doing ok. how are they treating him? i am on chemo only for now. the doc said he could do some radition on the bone mets if needed. from what the doc has said there just is not a chemo drug right now that will kill this beast. however some people live for years even without surgery. its nice to talk with you.

    Hmmm... treating him...
My Dad is doing complimentary treatment along with chemo. He has been through a lot, but manages to keep going. He has completely changed the his diet and he takes a million supplements everyday. He's doing well and is about to stop chemo for the first time in a year. We are praying things will continue to move along smoothly. Please keep in touch. It's so important for the Fighting Fours to stick together.

thanks for your kind reply. what we need is a new drug that will take care of this cancer. how has your dad changed his diet? are there supplements that help with this? i take black rasberry tablets daily. osu has done a few studies on them and said in high does they may have some affect on this cancer. have a good day jayme.
