and so far so good. No skin/scalp issues yet. I do have problems with balance, but that was expected, and I still have some headaches. Not as many and not as severe though.

The rads onc said we can start weaning off the decadron next week...yay! I'm kind of afraid to say it for fear I will jinx the trend...I've been on the decadron for over two weeks and have only gained 3 pounds. I'm really proud of myself for that, and am trying to gain no more than 10 total.

I also have a med onc appointment today, just a regular check-in. I'll let you all know if anything comes of that.

Hugs,

Linda

    Good job, Linda
you can now see that light at the end of this tunnel. I'm sure you're so excited to get off the steroids. I wish you a quick and easy time with the rest of your treatment and perfect results. I admire your courage.

    Hugs, Renee

Love that you are on the down slope.
3 is pretty good with the decadron, I would be about 20 by now! Hope the last few go as well and so happy the headaches are less!

    Hugs to you,
    Carol

    Linda...
Half way, yeah!!! So glad for you....something to watch for that brain rads cause.....Thrush....of all things! I had it really bad for almost 2 1/2 months, I'd go off the medication, and it would come right back...that's what started my downward spiral of losing all this weight...check your tongue, if it starts looking "coated" white or yellowish have them check it..mine started almost immediately after the rads was over...it was miserable, white blisters everywhere in my mouth and lips..when you see your RO or his nurse have them look if they don't bring it up....hopefully you won't get this but mine told me it's fairly common with brain rads...

Keep up the good work! You stay in my prayers and thoughts....
    Big hugs, Nancy

That halfway point is such a meaningful milestone...
... within the midst of any sort of treatment. Am glad for you, Linda!

I agree - the steroids, though necessary, really suck. Hated 'em & their horrid SEs. Relieved that soon you'll be free of them.

Hope your med onc check-up yesterday went well for you.

    Kind regards, Susan
