I'm sorry you're feeling nasty. If this continues go to the er! I had a fever with chills and a bad headache during chemo - we called the oncol. and he said go to the er. I had pneumonia and was in the hospital for 2 days with IVs/antibiotics. I hope you're feeling better soon!

During chemo I was told to go the ER if the fever was over 100.5. Your doc might have a different guideline for that. I was also able to take tylenol. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry you're having a rough
Sorry you're having a rough time. How are you doing with your fluids? Are you drinking a lot? I suggest you drink 8 glasses of water (at least) - just keep drinking as much as you can and see if that alleviates your headaches.
Please keep checking your temperature. Are you taking neulasta after each treatment? That used to give me some fever for two days, but then it would go away.
Also, remember to eat well - your body needs it. Try calling the Dr. again and if your fever doesn't go away, I would go to ER to make sure there is no infection present. You may need antibiotics for it.

Our oncologist says to call if temp is ever over 100.5. They have someone on-call 24/7. They also say do not take anything to lower your temp (tylenol, aspirin, etc) until you have been seen or told to by them. When an oncologist calls the ER to tell them a patient is coming in, they should see you right away or at least get you in a room and not left in a waiting room with lots of potential germs. So, it's always better to let the oncologist make the call to ER, so they will be expecting you and know you are potentially immuno-compromised.

Ended up going to lab
They didn't understand how I would have an infection after getting the Neulasta shot. Dr said because I had a reaction to Taxotere last Friday it would be a good idea to get some blood work to try and see what is going on.
Today a strange pain: running up and down my right leg and into my ankle and heel. Hobbling around like an old lady. My thumbs feel like I hit them with a hammer! Can that be from the chemo? My tongue is all white from being burned, so ill. Fever is back. I have to work today, hope it can be done.0 -

Your tongue may be white from Thrush and your fever may be coming from it as well if it has spread further down your esophagus. Please let your onc know about your mouth.

Please keep a journal describing your systems for a few weeks -- headaches, insomnia,
fevers, etc .. this will help your Oncologist determine the best course of
treatment.
Been there, done that ... and I do not envy you. Please stay strong, and hydrated.

Did you get the result of your lab work? I had Neulasta and I still had infections, but they could never verify where that infection was. I had urinalysis, blood work, and chest xray. Nothing but a fever and WBC really really high with a left shift. So between the Neulasta and the body's natural reaction to fight infection, I guess it's just what I did. And I hated it and it scared me that they couldn't identify what it was that was infected, but I responded to antibiotics and got better. So there!
Do tell your onc about the thrush as well as the one sided leg pain.
How much longer do you have to go with the stupid Taxotere? And how's the headache?
BTW, I went to my primary care physician because I felt sort of dismissed in oncology. I assumed they'd talk to each other, but they didn't . . . when I saw the onc after the last bout, she said she might have hospitalized me, but who the heck knows? It's a scarey time when you're on chemo no matter what. And I'd rather over-react and feel stupid than not react and end up in trouble.

Everything hurts. I can't put weight on my heel to walk, my mouth is burnt, my vein at the infusion site is painful, my thumbs are sore, every breath feels too cold to breathe. They said thrush is in globules not like my tongue is all white. Dr suspects Neulasta shot caused the fever. Now it is low grade not above 100. This is awful. I made it through the day drinking as much as possible trying to feel better...even YUCK coconut water mixed with everything. Can't eat much- everything tastes like wax or shortening, but I am trying anyway. Lost 5 lbs since Friday. Biotene, gargling with salt/baking soda water, vicodin, advil, just still sick.
Headache is gone, and labs came back normal. I am keeping a journal of everything now like VickiSam suggested. Dr said Taxotere causes weird pains in strange places and would explain leg (feels like a charlie horse constantly going down my leg into my heel) Maybe they need to cut back on how much they give me? This is awful. I need strength for 3 more of these treatments??!!0 -

I haven't had nearly the side effects you have had but I've had enough that I am going to tell my onc "I quit". I'm praying that you get some relief soon because you deserve better.

Forget what I said. Just what I feared. Should have kept my big mouth shut. You can't quit! I can't either no matter how hard it is. I will continue because its the only way. Please forgive me...I don't want to scare you!! I don't want you to quit. Begging.0 -
